I mean, they're just wee rubber grommets, aren't they? They are the correct size for strap buttons and they stretch easily enough to get them on. If one breaks, you have 10 more to replace it with. If you put them on D'Addario elliptical strap buttons, they are more difficult to get on, but much more secure. I wouldn't be swinging my Les Paul around my neck while depending on them to save anything, but if you're just standing and moving like a regular musician and not doing any wild stage acrobatics, these will add some security to a standard strap setup.in the past I used the metal strap-locks. They could be heard on recordings I made. They absolutely knockout that problem. The strap feels totally secure and no jingle jangle. These work really well... but you have to really work to get 'em on.I have to use a heat gun to make them pliable enough to slide over the strap button. This really doesn't bug me... And once they're on and they cool off they really stay put.Recommended.Acoustic Electric any guitar or Bass fantastic !A bit stiff to get on. Been using these and use them on all of my guitars so I have perfected it. Keeps the straps on! Even with old loose straps! I’ve purchased these 3 times.A most excellent product ignore the bad reviews folks im able to install and remove it from my acoustic guitar without any issues whatsoever. My guitar is firmly attached to my guitar via the the rubber rings without the worries that my guitar will fall from my body while performing on stage and believe me I play every weekend with no worries.Rubber is too stiffWorked on my 6 string electric. That guitar was always a concern due to the placement of the end pin behind the guitar instead of on the horn. These appear to have completely secured the strap as to not worry about it coming off. On my bass, I have the oval end pins, which actually work great, but thought I might add these to be doubly secure. Due to the design of the oval end pins, there is not room for the thick strap locks. That is no fault of the strap locks, simply end pin design. No worries with that one anyway. I saw the reviews about these being stiff. They are. That is what makes them (in my opinion) the better choice. I did not find them hard to put on and didn't need to warm them up. Depending on your end pin size, you might, but no big either way. Totally satisfied. Giving a couple sets to friends. Great purchase.Long time ago I used the rubber seals from groltch beer bottles for this purpose and was really expecting these to just be the same thing. Pleased to say they are far superior in every way, sturdy synthetic rubber, decent diameter and thick enough to prevent strap rotation and break away. Really secure and quite difficult to stretch over the buttons on some guitars but with a bit of effort they'll go on pretty much anything including bass guitar. Big thumbs up.If you want to stop your strap accidentally coming off these seem to do the trick. They are very stiff but also not flexible which is actually what you want. I tried to work them over the strap holding screw but because they are so stiff it was almost impossible and I gave up.By removing the strap holder screw and then putting the strap lock in first, then the strap and then screwing it back in place, it worked a treat. You are basically putting in on in reverse.Once back together again, their is no way this strap is coming off and that's exactly what I wanted.Point to note.If you have a thick strap eg leather, then it probably wont work as there wont be enough room for both the strap and the lock within the same screw strap holder. They are extremely difficult to put on but also extremely difficult to come off.I have 4 guitars and can only get them on three as the screw has little space to fit the lock on.These rings are stiffer than those I'd used previously and were at first a little hard to install. The trick is to warm them by bending and twisting - they then fit easily.Getting them off is harder - I had to resort to pliers, but they are tough enough for this. So, once on they stay on, which is exactly what they are meant to do... very secure.I've never had guitar strap locks in the 20 years I've played guitar. I've always relied on gravity and the sturdiness of the strap to keep my axe in place. It's fair to say this hasn't always been successful and its guaranteed always at a pivotal moment. What a fool I've been. These strap locks have changed the game. Now I can dance and move freely without the worry my guitar will come smashing into the ground. A little difficult to stretch over the strap button but I suppose that's the point and it's probably one of those things that I'll get quicker at the more I do it.I've installed Schaller strap locks on about a dozen guitars, which involves replacing the strap pins and screws. This time (for an Ibanez AZ2204F-TAB), I thought I'd keep the original parts, and try this alternative. It works really well. I found it easier if I folded each block a few times, and put it in hot water for about 20 seconds (obviously be careful here), before stretching over the pin. As an added bonus, you don't have to worry about the strap lock button coming off, which is very difficult to fix. However, you are stuck with the strap. I've also read that this approach can put pressure on the screw, over time. We'll see.
