[How the product is used] Take a red (ground) and a black and solder to the input jack. The other red is the bridge/tail piece ground. They are grounded (viewed from the back, soldered to the rightmost post) The black should be on the middle post (viewed from the plane, they are usually called 1 2 3).
[Sound] The sound is crisp and the magnet type will determine the tone and dynamics.

I used this for a B&W VH project guitar. It fit into a Badcat DIY HSS Strat kit after some very minor pup cavity sculpting (which the pickguard hides anyway, so I didn't have to be surgical about it). Make sure your soldering job is good and add full shielding. I did swap the black volume knob for a white tone knob. I can't speak for the pot and wiring since I swapped those out, but I can say the pickup and pickguard are outstanding quality for this price. The pickup is HOT. The multimeter has it bouncing around the mid 15's. I need the volume rolled down to 7 (and even as low as 3 sometimes). I was eventually going to get a SD '78 pup for this guitar, but honestly with proper Katana brown settings it already sounds darn close to the legend. The only thing missing is skill, technique and decades of practice, Lol. I would definitely buy this again if I had a similar project. No regrets at all.
